她預計會有交通堵塞，所以早早就動身前往會場。。

deceive 是由 de ( 不 ) 與 ceiv ( 拿取 ) 結合而來。向他人騙取 (ceiv) 不 (de) 屬於自己的東西或說不 (de) 真實的話就是指 「 欺騙、隱瞞 」。通常用於描述透過謊言、欺詐或欺騙手段來引誘或誤導他人。

那名騙子用快速致富的承諾欺騙了許多人。
